Mini "Marathon"

Today I officially registered for the Dublin Women's mini-marathon that will occur on the 6th of June. It is a 10k run/walk. I intend on walking it. This mini marathon is a huge fund raising event here in Dublin. 40,000 women are allowed to enter. I don't understand why it is a women's only thing but it is.
